Chicken Curry Rice

This was the first meal I made in Toronto. Using the packaged mix for both the Chicken Rice and the Chicken Curry, the food turned out well.
I used Brahimm Meat Curry mix for the chicken. Very simple. Just add chicken pieces (I used chicken legs) and other things you want in it. It was quite impromptu, so there were no potatoes or other vegetables. Instead I only added onions to the curry. It would appear watery initially but after letting it simmer for a while, it finally got down to the curry consistency.

The chicken rice mix was also simple. Just use it to cook your rice. I added sliced ginger to the rice while cooking.

The only thing that was made from scratch was the vegetable soup. Water with Chinese cabbage (or was it lettuce), tomatoes and onions. Leave it to simmer and then add salt and pepper to taste. It was surprisingly tasty. The light tangy taste from the tomatoes was a good foil to the rich chicken curry and rice.
