It is a new year, a new beginning and a new start. After such an eventful 2008 where we witnessed so many highs and lows, it is time to re-group and move on. Hopefully 2009 will be the year where things will start to move upward again.

Catching a moment of respite from the crowd on Christmas Eve at Deluxe by Bakerzin in Wisma Atria. A cup of cappuccino and opera cake to quietly reflect on 2008.

The soft creamy coffee infused buttercream layered with almond sponge cake and biscuit wafer base and ganache and topped with decadent chocolate was pretty nice. It could be better though :p I used to love the opera cake over at Olive Tree Restaurant in Hotel Intercontinental, that had a much richer and subtler taste.
Deluxe by Bakerzin also serves proper food. I didn't realize that as I never notice the tiny kitchen. I only see the desserts display and the macaroons! Lol. That is another option to dine when at Wisma Atria, besides the usual Food Republic and Din Tai Fung.
