It seemed like the norm to have a "light-up" for any festivals now. It used to be that the light-up is usually reserved for Christmas where Orchard Road will be decorated with Christmas decor. But now you can see it everywhere. Little India for Deepavali, Chinatown for Mid-Autumn Festival and Chinese New Year, Geylang Serai for Hari Raya Puasa and possibly Hari Raya Haji.
Colorful peacocks in vibrant shadesManaged to snap a picture of this year decor for Deepavali in the car when driving in Little India. The last time I was in Little India and encountered the light-up was in 2003, when ST was here for a visit. Time sure has flown.

Hi, Love reading your blog. The Long weekend is great huh?! Nyway, just to correct a misconception, Hari Raya Aidilfitri is not the Muslim's New Year. It's a day of celebration to mark the end of fasting and thanking God for the help and strength that they believe he gave throughout the month to help them practice self-control to be a better person.
