Dome at Paragon

It is funny how your taste buds change over years. In the early 2000s, Dome was one of my favorite cafes for meals. Somehow over the years, it has fallen from my food radar and it has become a vague memory from the yesteryears.

So it was quite by chance that we ended up at Dome in Paragon. We were a bit tired of Japanese and Thai food, plus at 9+pm, there was not many choices available anyway. JK was hesitant of Dome as it was right in the middle of the walkway/atrium area with no visible kitchen at all. I guessed we just did not want to end up in a place where they served microwaved food or something. It turned out the kitchen was hidden in another area, near the washroom area. The layout was strange, to say the least.

We ordered the crayfish pasta which came with a soup of the day and dessert if we were paying by Citibank credit card.

Cream of mushroom soup and a piece of toasted garlic bread. The soup was creamy and mushroomy and sprinkled with parsley flakes. It was pretty good.
Baked crayfish with cheese over the bed of linguine in tomato sauce with asparagus and alfalfa sprouts. That so reminded me of school days when I would make sandwiches with alfalfa sprouts and cold cuts. The pasta was al dente and the sauce was not too synthetic, plus the crayfish with cheese was pretty good.

I was pleasantly surprised by the dessert. Usually for such set meals, the dessert was usually a disappointment. This was good. Chocolate ice cream cake. Chocolate ice cream base with a chocolate sponge cake and topped with a thin layer of cream and chocolate coating. Nice.

I guessed the standard of Dome did not drop for the Paragon outlet. This would be one place to keep in mind the next time I am in Paragon.
