Food Opera is under the same people who bring us Food Republic, so the prices are higher than usual. The place seemed to have an animal theme as you can find sculptures of animals scattered around the place, with mirrors and other wall decorations.
If you have been missing the Scotts Picnic beef noodles, you can find it over here. They located and got them to set up a stall in Food Opera. I ordered the beef noodles with a side order of the beef ball soup and it came to $6.50 or so.
The beef noodles was not too bad. The sauce did not lose its sticky, gooey starchiness nor did it turn watery after a while so that was very nice. The beef slices were tough and chewy which I did not like. However the beef balls were soft and springy and those were good. If I was to order this again, I would just ask for beef balls noodles instead.

I'm so missing this beef noodles. Saw it the other day & told myself I'll be back. You've just expedited the process... & I'll add a plate of orh luak too...
orh luak looks really good!
yumm yumm.. since you mentioned that time, i actually went to Ion one day after a late meeting in town and had this for dinner.
i'm happy it's finally back, it used to be THE place i go to for beef noodles in Orchard (of course, now there's Food Republic @ Wisma too) :)
i had the sliced beef too, was ok. somehow i find this less tasty as before (when they were at scotts foodcourt). still decent, just not as nice.. can't pinpoint though.
ice: yes, you should go try, especially the oyster omelette :)
stardust: yes, it is. apparently they mixed in the chili and fry together if you ordered it spicy. but it is so good.
celest: yeah, the beef noodles was not fantastic, though still ok. i never really thought the scotts picnic version was all that though it was what i usually had when there :p personally i still prefer Hock Lam beef noodles at Far East Square.
