Kolachy

Kolachy Co. opened a couple of months ago at Bentall Centre Two at Burrard in Vancouver. It was interesting but I never got the chance to try it until my very last visit to the chiropractor. Die die must try :p

I bought the BBQ beef kolachy which was pretty good. It is slight sweet bun with the fragrant savory bbq beef cubes. Warm and toasty. Easy to munch on and great for a meal on the go.

So what is a Kolachy? It is a sweet yeast bun which is usually filled with fruit preserves, nuts or cheese. It originates from Eastern Europe or rather Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
At Kolachy Co., they served kolachy with savory fillings such as the bbq beef, or pesto, western, hawaiian, chicken, breakfast and with sweet fillings too. Interesting stuff and sold out after 3pm at the Bentall Centre outlet. Go early to avoid disappointment.
