Cost of a Woman

It is not cheap to be a woman. Lol. Not if one wants to look well groomed and presentable. As the saying goes, there is no ugly woman, only lazy woman. But to look good also means it needs quite a fair bit of vitamin M too.

I have been thinking about it for a while now. What do women actually spend on?

Monthly Expenditure (generic guide)
Skincare (cleanser, toner, scrub, moisturizer, sunblock. eyegel) - $300 for 2 months
Bodycare (shower gel, scrub, lotion) - $60 for 2 months
Haircare (shampoo, conditioner, mousse, gel etc) - $50
Waxing (leg, underarm, bikini/brazilian) - $100
Massage - $100
Body scrub/wrap - $80
Facial (Decleor) - $130
Eye treatment - $80
Eyebrow trimming - $12
Haircut - $60
Hair treatment - $100
Hair (perm/coloring) - $200 (2-3x a year)

*prices are a rough guide, with a mixture of high-end and low-end products used.

The basic stuff will set you back at least $1000. This didn't even include makeup or fragrance at all. Then you add the clothes, bags, shoes, watch, accessories, jewelry. It is not a mystery why women always claim to be broke by month end.

The little things which people (read: men) do not see at all when they see a well-groomed lady. It does take effort and money to maintain that.

Of course the savvy women will then hunt for bargains and good deals to keep the cost down ;) Another reason why women are always trawling the shopping malls. It is an exercise to keep going to check out the items and prices and when prices dropped, they will be there to swoop in on the items. I still believe that it is very hard to find something needed when you really need it. You just will never find it in your size, color or is something you absolutely love.
